Annie Dreese, Family Therapist specializing in Prenatal and Postpartum Mood and Mental Health
  • Warm, conversational, and follows your pace. Some weeks we do deeper work and other weeks we just check in and discuss how things are going. I'll meet you where you are. I'll never push you to go further than you're ready for, and I'll never pretend I have everything figured out. Whether we're working one-on-one, with you and your partner as a couple, or with a you and your child together (Child-Parent Psychotherapy), the heart of it is the same: making sense of what's happening, supporting what's working, and gently tending to what isn't.

  • Yes. I'm credentialed with Headway, a platform that handles insurance billing for therapy. If you have insurance through a plan Headway accepts, your sessions are billed directly through them and you only pay your copay or deductible — minimal paperwork on your end. We can confirm whether your specific plan is in-network during the intake process. I'll walk you through it.

  • You can still work with me and I can provide a "superbill,” – a detailed receipt you submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. Most plans with out-of-network mental health benefits will reimburse some portion of the session cost, sometimes a substantial portion. I'm happy to help you figure out what to expect and what questions to ask your insurance company before you commit.

A Few Common Questions

  • I do. A small number of sliding scale spots are reserved for clients who couldn't otherwise access therapy at this time. If finances are part of why you're hesitating to reach out, please ask. We can talk about it openly.

  • I do, periodically. The one I'm proudest of is Integrating Your Birth Story: a small-group space for women who've had hard, complicated, or traumatic births and want to find a way to hold those stories with less weight. We meet for a defined number of sessions, in community, with the kind of structure and care that makes the work feel possible. If that sounds like something you'd want, reach out and I'll let you know when the next cohort is forming.

  • Send me a message through the contact form, and we'll set up a brief, no-pressure phone call to see if we're a good fit. From there, we book a first session and go bird by bird.
